May is American Stroke Month

May is National Stroke Awareness Month—
a time to highlight stroke symptoms, risk
factors, and prevention strategies. While
strokes can affect anyone at any age, many
are preventable through lifelong
management of risk factors, particularly
high blood pressure. Advancements in
stroke research and treatment continue to
improve outcomes, with promising efforts
underway to develop new therapies that
protect brain tissue after stroke.
Recognizing the signs of stroke and
understanding your personal risk can be
life-saving. Together, we can raise
awareness, promote prevention, and
support ongoing progress in stroke care,
transforming lives for the better.
